I've used Wise Care 365 for a long time, and now adware cleaner detects me two program registry keys as threats. Are they false positives or are they really threats? Thanks in advance for your clarification.

Re: False positive?

Greetings,

WiseCleaner comes with PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) during installation process. We stand against such practices. This is why we decided to target it.

There are some nice and free alternatives to WiseCleaner:

These two software are edited by Piriform which is a well known company.

Feel free to ask if you need some more details.

Regards.

Re: False positive?

I use Auslogics Disk Defrag Pro many yrs too and now these results show up.

I think that this results are false positive.

Auslogics Disk Defrag Pro comes with PUP too?

Re: False positive?

I agree with the second poster and I always use the CCleaner myself, but I would try the second to check.. false positives are always making me anxious (no, I'm serious, I have some anxiety issues which is why I take klonopin to deal with them..

Re: False positive?

Hello,

Indeed it's considered as a PUP. You may want to use Defraggler instead.

Re: False positive?

I have same issue too, adwcleaner find wisecleaner and Auslogics

HKLM\SOFTWARE\WISECLEANER

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Auslogics,

But I don't think it is a threat, when I click clean, my wise care 365 change to a Free version, I lost my Pro version, I had to reactivated it.

Re: False positive?

Hello,

Both elements are considered as PUP.

Best regards,

Re: False positive?

Thanks,

yes, when i install wise registry cleaner, it recommended to install spyhunter, and i deny it. so, wise registry cleaner in my system is clean, no ads, no additional programs.

Something like, when i watch a video, it pops up ads, I hate it, but I don't remove video, just close ads, because I want to watch the video. So, if adwcleaner can just warn user,  not default remove it , i think it would be better.

Re: False positive?

@edwin007: You can unselect the elements you want to keep before pressing the "Clean" button.

Best regards,
