I am just doing my internet business and suddenly a pop-up comes from Malwarebytes told me to turn on all real time protection. I checked it out and I noticed Exploit protection was turned off. So I pressed the off button to turn it on again but it won't turn on. So I did a quick scan with the ADWCleaner and it found no threats. I did a Threat scan on Malwarebytes and it also found nothing. I tried restarting my computer and my exploit protection was still turned off. I pressed the button again to turn it on, but it won't turn on. Next thing you know my internet stops loading. I'm still connected to the internet everything is fine I can still use my internet on my phone. The one I can't use is the computer's internet. I turned the wifi off and I was able to turn on the Exploit protection from Malwarebytes and it managed to turn on but the wifi is still down. Now it became on again. This happened five times now and I think some virus is in my computer.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

Greetings,

As I can see, Malwarebytes is up-to-date. Do you have a paid licence for Malwarebytes?

Regards.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

I am using the 14 day trial from Malwarebytes. I would consider buying a 2 year license if you can fix this.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

Hello,

Is the 14 days trial still "working"?

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

Hello,

Please try the following:

  • Download mbam-clean.exe from here to your desktop and save it.
  • Locate the file mbam-clean.exe and double-click to run it and follow the onscreen prompts.
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important.

If you have any other anti-virus application running in the background, please shut it down in order to avoid any conflicts when running the tool.

After reboot, try to install Malwarebytes again. You can download it through this link: https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/309-malwarebytes/

..But realtime protection won't start since you've reached the end of the trial preriod..

Regards.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

I reinstalled my Malwarebytes. I did another scan but it's not detecting any viruses but my Internet Connection Sharing in my services.msc is getting stopped by something. This causes me to lose connection to the internet. What do I do?

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

OK, so we'll try to resolve this issue.

I would suggest you to run Network troubleshooter, it will automatically troubleshoot the network problem and check. If it helps.

  1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
  2. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
  3. Click on View all on the left navigation pane.
  4. Click on Network troubleshooter.
  5. Click on Advanced on the Network troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
  6. Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Network troubleshooter.

Is it better now?

Regards.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

Looks like I'm having DNS problems but I never had this before. I did 3 fixes to solve this.

1. Changed DNS server to google. The 8.8.8.8 and the 8.8.4.4 in Internet Protocol V4

2. I did the Command prompt commands

ipconfig /release ipconfig /all ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip set dns netsh winsock reset

And I restarted my computer

3. I also did the "chrome://flags/” and reset it all to default. But I still can't access websites. I even restarted my router multiple times and shutting down and restarting my computer. What should I do?

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

Hello,

Can you type "http://212.83.40.238" in your favorite browser and give me a screenshot of the result?

Thanks.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

Here's the screenshot. I had trouble uploading it so I had to place it in imgur.

Screenshot in imgur

It didn't load as it took way too long for the ip to respond. Anyways I strongly conclude someone has remote access to my computer. Here's why. While I was using Unity, I only have one game object in the scene. I have no scripts that can create any new game object. I put my computer to sleep mode and I had it minimized the application before I slept it. When I went back online, I typed in my password and I saw my screen with a greyish brown selection box over a part of the window. I didn't select anything yet and I know my selection should be blue like all window users have. The next thing you know the greyish brown selection box disappeared and I went on to my Unity and I see 3 game objects instead of one. That's two more than the usual that I should have.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

That was in fact a spam account. I removed his message.

Do you have an internet connection active? I mean, other than in a web browser.

Re: Random Internet connection problem and exploit protection shutdown

I'm connected to my internet. I can use YouTube com and Facebook normally but there's a lot of websites I can't access and no I didn't add their website in the host file.
