Ask Jeeves PUP ?

Haven't got a clue how this got onto my system but my question is why has the new version of Adwcleaner picked this up but not the previous one of a few weeks ago ?

Re: PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

well it pays and they are not annoying at all to me - i always do surveys if im bored/close to going offline anyhow so i just do the survey, restart my pc via your adwcleaner and boom,i dont even really see that they are there (i only use this site rarely so i dont mind)

Hi @cocochepeau,

If I may add, in addition to your link above, also include a link (for Newbies) to the forum guidelines/rules.

Just my opinion.  ????

Re: PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

Hello Sakurasanta 86,

I had this same question yesterday from another user. I would delete the above through adw cleaner.  My advice do not take surveys.  Also look here at the same question https://toolslib.net/forum/viewthread/14338-pups-online-studies-harmless-or-not/

Hope this helps.

PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

Hello ive started using some online sites for studys the last days - file some stuff and get money/points etc BUT everytime i do a survey on "https://www.meinungsstudie.de/" it loads the sites on a url named "surveymyopinion" So if i run adwcleaner (current version) after doing that i get 4-8 PUP'S which all have entries verifying it is from "surveymyopinion" in some folders. Now the question: ...

Re: Newest adw version detects world of warcraft beta as a threat and deletes the whole thing.

Via the battlenet application of course. There is litrally no way this is an actual threat or PUP im rather reporting this as a false positive and want a confirmation for that so it can get fixed :) Blizzard itself gives you access to this alpha/beta and opens the download for you,so i highly doubt theres anything even close to a threat.

Edit: the version before the 12th of april did not do...

Newest adw version detects world of warcraft beta as a threat and deletes the whole thing.

As seen in the title, the new version literally told me my world of warcraft beta would be a "threat" and continued deleting the whole thing making my 20gb download literally a waste of time. Im pretty pretty sure this shouldnt be detected or labeled as a thread or am i missing something? here the log:

Re: PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

I have removed them and i know everything about the site. I just wanted to know if they are rather serious or just ad related. I remove them at the end of my day when i turn of my pc anyhow so i just wanted to be save in case they do something rather fishy (track keystrokes for example.)
