I'm normally very careful about my downloads, but today I accidentally made a mistake, and ended up with so much adware that I could barely open my browser. I made an account just to say than you, Adwcleaner, you saved me A LOT of frustration.

After running AdwareCleaner, cleaning most of the results, and rebooting, this is what s going on
My BitComet (torrents) clients still works fine, but everything else internet-related doesnt seems to connect, like Skype, Avast updating, and all browsers.
Is there any way to reverse the process?
Thank You

False positives (it's a legitimate VPN extension):
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Hola
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Google\Chrome\Extensions\ncffjdbbodifgldkcbhmiiljfcbgjag

If I remember correctly there's also a false positive for the Hola Unblocker Firefox add-on. However, the Firefox add-on stopped working for me - possibly due to AdwCleaner cleaning away files needed for it to work - and re-installing it doesn't help, so I can't submit a report for that add-on. The add-on can be installed from here if anyone wants to have a look at it: http://hola.org/

The following entries are false positives:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\ProgSense (included with some software to look for updates - nothing malicious or deceiving)

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Simple Adblock (adblocker now known as Adblock Plus knowingly installed by user for Internet Explorer)

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Hola (knowingly installed by user)

HKCU\Software\ProgSense (included with some software to look for updates - nothing malicious or deceiving)

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{459DD0F7-0D55-D3DC-67BC-E6BE37E9D762} (belongs to ZoomBrowser EX, a Canon camera utility)

The following are proxy settings knowingly added by user:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings [ProxyEnable] - 1

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings [ProxyOverride] - *.local

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings [ProxyServer] - socks=localhost:1234

Thanks in advance for correcting the issue.

Good Morning!
I'm trying to uninstall your program. I'm assuming it's a single use program, that is download it when you need it, then, delete it. I'm afraid I don't understand your above term "using the 'mode uninstall.'

I see Adware in my downloads file, but there's no uninstaller. It's not listed in "Programs & Features," so I can't uninstall from there.

I'm trying to get numerous SearchScopes entries OUT of my registry. While I successfully downloaded & ran Adware from Bleeping Computer this morning, when I tried to download from your site, Sonar blocked it. I don't know what Sonar is, so I figure I'd better uninstall, clean out Adware, and do some reading before I try again.

Is the "mode uninstall" a new term/function? Can someone help me understand, please? Appreciativley...

Thank you for creating and continuing to update AdwCleaner. My 68 year old neighbor called me asking for help removing what turned out to be "Ads by CheckMeUp". Your software worked perfectly, and even found and resolved another issue as well. I am going to donate to help you continue your efforts. It's not a lot, but i hope everyone you help is able to donate something...thanks again!

I downloaded Adwcleaner today from CNET
I got a warning it was out of date, and was directed to a link for the current version
I downloaded the new Adwcleaner and when I tried installing it,
"Avast Antivirus" gave me this warning:

https://toolslib.net/downloads/finish/1/get/aZ8f/
Infection: Win32:Malware-gen

The file was quarantined:

File Name: dwNRRc3h.exe.part
Virus Description: Win32:Malware-gen

Help!!!

Thanks,
