I just tried to run AdwCleaner in Safe Mode unfortonately run AdwCleaner crashed again and produced the same error msg.

Looking forward to the next version of AdwCleaner. Hopefully this will resolve this issuse.

OK, this issue is known and will be fixed in the upcoming 7.1 version.

In the meantime, we can try to use AdwCleaner in Safe Mode. It works sometimes.

Here is how you can boot Windows 7 in Safe Mode : https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/force-windows-to-boot-into-safe-mode-without-using-the-f8-key/

Then, just launch AdwCleaner again and do a scan/clean.

Can you then click on "Clean", let AdwCleaner do his work, and then please share the generated logfile after reboot?

Hi guys,

I installed the other 'some' tool and while installig this other tool my windows 7 box got infected with

'lavasoft web companion'

obivouly my first weapon of choice was to pick up a new vesion of adwcleaner.

 However the currenct version 7.0.4.0 seems of have problems removing the above named spyware.

However I partialy managed to remove some elements of lavasoft web companion....

Glad to know it's now fixed. May be it was only related to gearbest.com, something like a defacement [1]? I can't find anything online about it tho.

The last update I've seen referencing the ADW Cleaner CLI was almost a year ago.

Have there been any updates? Or is that project now canceled after the acquisition by Malwarebytes?
