So you tried this I presume:
In Services, look for "Avira.ServiceHost". If the status is blank or does not say "Running" Open the service and click "Start".

I had several unwanted programs including adware and malware, and malwarebytes and adwcleaner removed most but UCguard and UCguard.sys still remain when scanning with adwcleaner.
