SearchScopes in my Internet Explorer Registry

on Disinfection by ****

So ADWCleaner keeps finding SearchScopes registry keys in my Internet Explorer registry (even though I exclusively use Google Chrome) and it keeps removing the keys, but the keys keeps coming back.  Nothing else detects SearchScopes and I never notice any problems with Internet Explorer when I tried testing it to see if SearchScopes would do anything.

Is there a better way to remove SearchScop...

Re: - False Positives -

I don't know why everyone else is posting in this thread, but I have already posted my log. :)

Re: AdwCleaner deletes some file but it reappears after Windows start-up

Hello,

Something else seems to recreate the key. I'll look with a ZHPDiag report :

  • Download ZHPDiag from Nicolas on his website
  • Then run it with administrator's rights (with right click)
  • Then upload the log file on up2share (you will find it on your desktop, just drop the file on the upload zone)
  • Then post the link in your reply

Best regards,

Re: False Positive? C:\ProgramData\mntemp

Although AdwCleaner detects mntemp as being a folder, it is actually an extensionless file. I don't see any other signs of SearchProtect on my PC. After the cleanup/reboot with AdwCleaner, the files are gone, but they are literally immediately recreated every time I launch Breakaway Audio Enhancer. I don't understand why SearchProtect would be linked to the launch of Breakaway. I really hope it...

Re: Find but didn't remove MPC cleaner

Hi Leroy,

The AdwCleaner logfile shows us that MPC 's service is still present.

I'have already fought againt that service, and he is clearly well protected.

Actually, the best way to remove it, is to reinstall MPC completly, in order to uninstall it with it's own uninstall application.

The real problem here, is that some tools, like AdwCleaner, tries to remove it, but don't sucess completly...

Re: XP sp3 AdwCleaner 5.108

Hi Xplode,

CPU-Z shows MMX, SSE

If you look back at my post, No 7 in this thread, I did ask if AdwCleaner supported non SSE2 processors. It was my initial hunch as everything else seemed OK.

If this is the case, please can you consider support for older SSE processors? There are quite a few us out here using old Celerons and Athlons.

Re: Internet issues after running adwcleaner Winsock2 being deleted

Hello Xplode,

Thanks for your time looking into this matter.  I apologize I was away and not able to assist shortly after reporting this issue.  I had noticed that you had released a couple of newer versions while I was away, so I downloaded and ran the newest one 5.109, but the issue persisted.  Please note that I am not deleting any files or folders that your program detects (as there are so...

Re: AdwCleaner 5.0.2.8 Will Not Run on Win XP Computer

xplode, thanks for chiming in, and thanks for adwcleaner.. build 5.32 works fine on my windows xpsp3 computer..

it has been hit-and-miss with adwcleaner, over the past several months.. one build will work with win xp and the next one won't..back and forth..

in my opinion, adwcleaner should not be set, by default, to restore the default winsock settings (or anything else).. i imagine that caus...

Re: adwcleaner_5.029 can not identify and delete newpoptab.com

Hello,

Can you share the whole folder this time ? The extension seems to be located somewhere else.. :

  • Open the same folder
  • Select all -> send-to "compressed folder"
  • Host the zipped file on Up2Sha.re
