I have tried several times to run AdwCleaner 7.0.6.0 on my laptop but it continues to stop during Heuristic analysis while doing a scan and windows closes the program.  I am running a Windows 10 Home (1709) OS on a Dell Inspiron laptop.  Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Please run AdwCleaner in debug mode.

  • Open AdwCleaner and click Tools > Options and place a check in the box next to Debug Logs
  • Run another scan/clean.
  • Then, share the file: C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner_Debug.log

I have the same problem with version 7.0.6.0 on an older Dell laptop using Windows 7 with my anti virus disabled.  Tried using version 7.0.1.0 with the debug option selected and get the same results.  Stops after beginning the heuristic scan.  Any thoughts solutions.  Version 7.0.6 works fine on a Dell desktop with windows 7.

Hello, Administrator!  There was a brace of follow-on replies added within the past week that just got cut off - having system issues?  The drift was that this is a known problem, has apparently existed since the advent of version 7 and now continues beyond 7.0.6 to 7.0.7.  AdwCleaner consistently crashes when starting up during the "heuristic" phase, and the resulting debug file is truncated and seems identiical across the various versions.  One common scenario appears to be Dell laptops running Win 7.  Further, it may not be related, but downloads of this program (only) consistently result (for me) in communication corruption warnings.  Since I have no way of checking against a known good program file image, I provided my downloaded 7.0.7 (with alert) MD5: 3E3DEE6996E9C17C10A39EEF05973792 if helpful to start eliminating possibile causes. I would regardless appreciate knowing if you show the same hash locally for a known-good version 7.0.7 file.

Dell Win 7 32b, iE 11, IDM - all current.  ToolsLib, downloading AdwCleaner, is the only time/place I've seen this issue reported, consistently.

Used current Chrome with IDM - same message:

"IDM started to download the file using one connection because of data corruption when newly received data in several connections did not match the same data downloaded earlier. Do you want to read about possible reasons of data corruption?"

Of all the things I download from all the sites I visit, this (AdwCleaner from ToolsLib.net) is the only one that ever produces this error message, and it does so every time.  The download URL is https://toolslib.net/downloads/finish/1/.

Separately - any news about AdwCleaner 7.1?  Thanks.
