OK! Issue solved! I had knowingly installed the iSafe Key-logger on that computer. This is supposedly invisible to cleaners and registry. AdwCleaner removed the invisible iSafe folder but not its registry entries. That caused instability in the system, probably related to the specificity of the key-loggers. Restoring the iSafe folder from within the AdwCleaner Quarantine Manager solved the issue. No need to do anything in the registry. I hope this helps!
Thank you for creating and continuing to update AdwCleaner. My 68 year old neighbor called me asking for help removing what turned out to be "Ads by CheckMeUp". Your software worked perfectly, and even found and resolved another issue as well. I am going to donate to help you continue your efforts. But having used this app in the past, I clicked on the "External Link" button (under the 'Download' button near top / right of this page, and tried downloading this from bleepingcomputer.com . . . success!! Hope this helps.

Cleaning malware with AdwCleaner in Windows 7 of a friend AdwCleaner didn't delete some tasks named "Rocket Updater" and "APSnotifier...". Everything else was deleted. What to do?

my adw cleaner said it was out of date so i downloaded a newer version but problems occurred and my anti virus blocked it as it was seen as a threat to my computer i was really impressed with this tool now i am unable to use it hope you can give me some feedback as how i can remedy this problem so i may go on using your product

Jantest> After running ADWCLEANER, I always reset the browser settings back to defaults. In Chrome, it's at the very bottom of the Settings page ok. Hope that helps you out!
