Jantest> then run hitmanpro, followed by malwarebytes (installed using malwarebytes chamellion). That seems to be the perfect combo.

I'm having problems detecting a popup that's displaying as "Define Ext". It keeps telling me my computer is out of date in my internet windows. Any suggestions, I'm using Adware v3.310? Thank you!

@GlenStobbs, that is because NCH programs are adware. They always advertise their site and their other programs, which is most likely why this program detects it.

To some of the other users out there who think this software is a virus, listen up. Any piece of software that performs administrative tasks with or without the user knowledge is considered malware or a trojan. Unfortunately, this is also common for software with a good cause.

Xplode> hey great work! This seems to be the best utility at getting rid of some nasty pieces of malware. There is only one suggestion of a new threat that has hit some of my friends computers. The name of the software is called "PC Clean Maestro" by CompuClever. If there is any way in your next release, do you mind creating an adware removal routine for this piece of malware. Check it out on www.shouldiremoveit.com

I have tried to download this several times with the same result as everyone else, Norton Internet Security is treating this programme as a trojan and deletes it. I have been on the NIS website forums and people there are quoting that the programme is safe to use and providing website links for download, both the BleepingComputer and Xplode links yet is still being blocked by NIS, any ideas if there is another programme available...?

I have found that a reading of AdwCleaner[0] gives a better result than many other settings. The AdwCleaner *Quarantined* items are showing in other Antivirus scans at times. For this reason when helping others I ask them to Uninstall their version and install a Fresh copy after about 3 scans. Is this useless, or can this be a good idea ??

False alarm:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\fhkmpddbiciimgibbkmimhfognpknmeo
It is absolutely legal extension of the store
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/save-as-mhtml/fhkmpddbiciimgibbkmimhfognpknmeo

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Mail.Ru
In this folder, I have installed "Cloud Mail.ru", it need not be removed, it is completely legal and no it does not apply to advertising
https://cloud.mail.ru/

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Mail.Ru
And in that folder I have is a shortcut to the legal application "Cloud Mail.ru"
https://cloud.mail.ru/
