I managed to get it to work, you need to download the link above and then let it scan. If you have a pop-up window to say this version is out of date ignore rate can full the window. After you need to press on scan normally it will work fine.

I too have this same exact occurrence & have started a new thread on bleepingcomputer.com (BC) titled: "Strange PC behavior W/ adwcleaner_7.0.0.0.exe"

I still get the same problem it scans the computer but then when I asked it to clean it get one third through then I get this message.

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available"
