Try using the beta, see if that elevate the false positives. However, if your software is obtained in illegitimate ways (I know music software can get quite expensive), it might have some form of virus or malware attached to it. You can never discount the possibility.
Well, plenty of work there, Josh! I've done virtually them all including Hitman Pro,MBAM, AdwCleaner, CCleaner but no change in anything, still same problem with the Start icon. May or may not be a Clean_DNS problem but since the day of installing Clean_DNS the Windows\Start icon in bottom left of Win 10 screen is a mess, ie left clicking on it shows all options but lets you go/click no further on any of them. If I right click the Start icon though most of those options work, but Search won't work. Anyone any idea how to correct this scenario? Again, I say it may not ...
Glad the issues have been sorted out. For future reference, I recommend installing some form of Adblock, as not only that prevents malicious ad pop-ups but also some malicious websites as well. Additionally, you can check any link before clicking it using Virus Total or Scanurl. Good luck!
Did you remove previous versions of the software from your PC and are you sure you are using the latest version? Make sure you are running only one instance of anti-malware software.
False positives can happen from time to time, nothing new there. If the application is interacting at a system level and is not known, it will flag that it as a potential issue. AdwCleaner getting bought by Malwarebytes did nothing but good, so I am not sure. You can report the file or software that is causing the pop-up.
I tried all versions before using this beta version and all failed. The tool stops at the heuristic analysis. I get a pop up windows: AdwCleaner stopped working and windows will try to find a solution. I cannot get any error file, my only option is to stop the the program and that's it.
I use Windows 10 family, 64 bits.
