No, it do not depends on the chosen location. You can save AdwCleaner wherever you want, the result will be the same.

Yes, sure. It seems to me like it tries to rid of the items found, but they are untrusted and should be there. Can you launch AdwCleaner, click on Tools > Options. Then, tick "Debug", and do a scan, and a clean.
