Re: PUP.Legacy.Optional - 3 Threats Identified

Well.... My previous solution in Windows "Safe mode with networking" should help you out if you haven't done that. Alternatively, you could try using RKill to kill malicious software first. Then remove the identified files manually, afterward do a thorough scan with Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner, and HitmanPro. This should definitely yield some results.

Re: removed by author

Hello I didin't see this topic before.

Do you really think that if it was a bad file , all the best and known antiviruses ( DrWeb, Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, etc.....) could mark it as safe ?

Please, think before posting

Re: Potential false positives?

PUP is usually named a Potentially Unwanted Program. It doesn't always have to be malware or malicious software. If MMO's have their anti-cheat in form of "Pando", it might interact with files at the system level, which AdwCleaner could deem treating a very normal reaction. Re: Can I remove these folders/keys safely with adware cleaner?

PUP is a potentially unwanted program. Basically, something that comes with bundleware or through other sources. As fr33tux mentioned, you should just remove them and not worry about it much. In general, if you see something with WARE in scans, it is some form of malware.

Re: Can I remove these folders/keys safely with adware cleaner?

Hello,

Yes, you can remove these elements.

What exactly does this mean, and is this a real threat?

Yes, those elements have been detected with the heuristics detections (hence the family name).

Re: Can I remove these folders/keys safely with adware cleaner?

The results of last scan:

***** [ Tasks ] *****

PUP.Adware.Heuristic, At1

PUP.Adware.Heuristic, At1

What exactly does this mean, and is this a real threat? (because the updated interface is too confusing for me). Thank you in advance.
