PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

Hello ive started using some online sites for studys the last days - file some stuff and get money/points etc BUT everytime i do a survey on "https://www.meinungsstudie.de/" it loads the sites on a url named "surveymyopinion" So if i run adwcleaner (current version) after doing that i get 4-8 PUP'S which all have entries verifying it is from "surveymyopinion" in some folders. Now the question: ...

Re: Newest adw version detects world of warcraft beta as a threat and deletes the whole thing.

I did ofc and it works again like it should - as stated above this is more of a "hey thats a clear false positive" in case your team wasnt aware :) so it gets fixed.

Re: AdwCleaner 7.0.6.0 has stopped working

I'm glad you like the new version - a lot of work went into it. :)

Feel free to send us feedbacks if you have any.

Regards.

Re: BSOD tcpip.sys? at boot only

So, as I can see, the BSOD might be due to a bad/corrupted driver installation.

Can you try the following steps: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028443/windows-update-drivers-in-windows-10

Thanks.

Re: Newest adw version detects world of warcraft beta as a threat and deletes the whole thing.

Hello,

This is indeed a false positive. It'll be fixed in the next release.

Did you try to restore the deleted folder using the quarantine?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

i didnt download anything. they just appear everytime i do a survey on the site above

Re: Newest adw version detects world of warcraft beta as a threat and deletes the whole thing.

Via the battlenet application of course. There is litrally no way this is an actual threat or PUP im rather reporting this as a false positive and want a confirmation for that so it can get fixed :) Blizzard itself gives you access to this alpha/beta and opens the download for you,so i highly doubt theres anything even close to a threat.

Edit: the version before the 12th of april did not do...

Re: Adware Cleaner, Can It Really Stop Anything Except Healthy Software?

Hello Ethelena,

Welcome to ToolsLib,

Please answer the following questions in your reply.  First of all may I ask you what kind of

1)  anti virus software are you using?

2)  What version Awd Cleaner are you using?

3)  Do you have an ad blocking software installed on your computer?

4)  Do you have PC Repair installed on your computer?

Warmest Regards,

Julie

Re: PUP's from online studies - harmless or not?

They are not serious but they are annoying!  Just be careful what you download and make sure to pay attention to what is checked marked that shouldn't be.  PUA's do not track you, etc and are not ad related.

Hope this helps.
