Re: Win10PESE startup

Thanks for your reply.

Not sure I understand the relevance of  HDD speed. And anyway my disk boot times are OK. Also I don't have a WinXP ISO but a Windows XP system. And no VM is involved.

Maybe I wasn't clear.

I have a Windows XP system and two 8TB disk drives which XP doesn't support. To solve this problem I got the Win10PESE ISO from ToolsLib, burned it to DVD and booted from that DVD (w...

Re: Win10PESE startup

It all depends on the rig. HDD's are not known to be the fastest at boot times, especially if the system is Windows XP, quite a legacy system right now. Not really sure. If you PC specs are good, then you shouldn't have such long boot times, unless your HDD's are really slow. Did you notice anything else during the boot? Is your WinXP iso image clean? If you got it from a third party, I wouldn'...

Win10PESE startup

I burned the ISO yesterday to enable me to access two 8TB drives that I had just bought for my offline Windows XP system, and it worked perfectly.

However, I was concerned about how long it took from selecting DVD boot to seeing the desktop: 5 minutes 20 seconds!

Is there anything that can be done to reduce this to a reasonable level?

Re: False positives?

New version rolled in, and I rebooted as it was suggested to me... I still get these results.

Re: Potential false positives?

PUP is usually named a Potentially Unwanted Program. It doesn't always have to be malware or malicious software. If MMO's have their anti-cheat in form of "Pando", it might interact with files at the system level, which AdwCleaner could deem treating a very normal reaction. Keep in mind that different malware removal software targets malicious software different ways. While one anti-malware so...

Re: Cleaning process for both Vista32: there is something to be erased?

I warmly thank you. (Since 02.juny all is ok at boot after the definitions update at boot https://toolslib.net/forum/viewthread/11691-cleaning-process-both-vista32-there-something-be-erased/?p=1#!messageId-11854  even if Comodo has NOT been upgraded. Perhaps a month is too soon to be allowed to say "it is definitively fixed").

Re: Cleaning process for both Vista32: there is something to be erased?

Hi again, sorry a question: is this a new very strange updating system or a malware? thanks

found in %temp% and I was asked at boot by UAC if I want to run it. I deleted it and stop. Today, since I have a clean disk image (thanks for your previous help), I accepted and clicked on OK. Online I find fast nothing about this autorun installer, released by Comodo on 30th june.thanks.

Re: Cleaning process for both Vista32: there is something to be erased?

Hi, today I had the first "real" bluescreen after 11th april.

Boot > manually update CID database (in a few secvonds since the defs has been updated yesterday) > end of downloading process > bluescreen BAD_POOL_CALLER 0x000000C2 !!

Reboot: CIS updates has not been installed! CIS is now dowloading a big database file: 270MB!! In CIS scanner folder the file "bxxxxxxx.cav" cannot be deleted sin...

Re: Cleaning process for both Vista32: there is something to be erased?

Hi, ok I delete frst.exe and generated logs from A_Laptop. It is a miracle that all is ok here after 5 years. Great. B-Desktop: I am able to boot for a month with Comodo installed without problems. To be sure I would have to unistall CIS for *at least* one month (better two) to see if the hang happens even without CIS. Perhaps we could leave this misterious issue unresolved, after all - if this...
