SMBCheck is a free utility created by Webroot to determine if your computer(s) require the patch "MS17-010" from Microsoft.
MS17-010 addresses the following exploits:
CVE-2017-0143
CVE-2017-0144
CVE-2017-0145
CVE-2017-0146
CVE-2017-0147
CVE-2017-0148
Without this update, your computer (s) may be vulnerable to an exploit against the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol within Windows, which could lead to malware such as WannaCry.
What does it do?
The utility compares the file version of the file located in "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\srv.sys" with the expected versions published by Microsoft. The actual version of the file is compared to ensure it is greater than or equal to the expected version. This indicates that MS17-010 has been applied to the file.
