No, you're at the right place.
Can you relaunch AdwCleaner, Tools > Options. Tick "Debug" in the mode section.
Then, do a scan, and a clean. Wait until it freezes, and share the generated logfile from C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner_Debug.log.
It's probably quite huge, so please host it on https://up2sha.re/ and share the generated link.

i have used older versions of adw cleaner and they work fine but they dont detect the threats
so i used the newest version (v6.000) and it detects alot of threats but when i press clean it just goes not responding. i tried waiting 2 hours and it was still not responding
im on Windows 10 64-bit

I ran into the same problem. Below is a snippet of the cleaning log.

Also I've ran many cleaning softwares such as FRST, Hitmanpro, Malwarebytes, EEK, rKill, Super Antispyware, TDSSKiller, and I even went and did a Combofix scan and nothing popped up on all of those except for ADWCleaner so it must be a false detection.

When we choose the "SCAN" tab the log files are: "C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner (S173) .txt" until (S60).txt. (113 log files)
When we choose the "Cleaning" tab the log files are: "C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner(C32).txt" until (C8).txt.(24 log files).

Can you activate the debug mode and start a cleaning process until it hangs? Then simply close AdwCleaner, launch it again and share us the debug logfile.
