Re: False positives?

It's true I haven't restarted the PC since this whole thing started. Plus while I have IE installed I don't actually use it, not even browser helper objects or anything like that. Though I don't know if that counts for anything.

Re: Download and 3rd party providers

Particular install features, Failure to detect exe, inability to identify application install folder. The program is crashing at 90% when scanning. One such example: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/652195/strange-pc-behavior-w-adwcleaner-7000exe/#entry4293511

I do not have other forum links at hand, but when I have time to go through them, I will be sure to keep you updated.

Re: Download and 3rd party providers

Not in particular. I was surfing other forums, Norton, Kaspersky and in general tech and cyber security forums, and a lot of people have installation issues. Even when downloading from your website and official sources. I have also read plenty of entries in this forum about people not being able to install the software properly

As for 3rd Party providers FileHippo??? uptodown? Cnet? Toms guide...

Re: False positives?

  2. I'd like to remind you that we're speaking about the release of a major version (7.0.0.0). A major version often comes with big changes and it may bring unexpected issues.
  3. Finally, the lack of answer doesn't mean ...

Re: Download and 3rd party providers

Hello,

  • Do you have some more details about these "install failures"?
  • About 3rd party providers, do you have some names or links?

Thanks.

Re: Potential false positives?

If they weren't detected as major threats or some form of issues you should be good to go. AdwCleaner should clean up any actually malicious software, but other than that, you don't need to worry. If you want, you can do a full thorough system scan just in case. Avast full scan. Mbam, AdwCleaner and Hitman Pro, additionally use CCleaner to clean up your registry and cache files and you are set!

Download and 3rd party providers

Just was curious, I have seen some people having issues with downloads and installs when it comes to beta and normal versions. I wonder if they are downloading through some form of 3rd party provider? Or can the installs fail for some reason? Maybe system configuration?
