In fact there is an error with a COM module that your computer doesn't seem to have / find. Instead of making the program crashes when it can't find this module, I just bypass it and the scan can complete.
Moreover, you should have a file called "COMError.log" located at C:\AdwCleaner, can you post it's content ?

Thank you for your help Xplode.
Just ran it again and it showed an error once again. I began recently facing this error when running Adwcleaner and it previously worked great for me. I have even ran some anti malware and antivirus but they didn't catch any harmful items, just the usual junk files.
What do you think it might be causing this problem? I performed a clean install on this lap...

Ok, it appears that your error comes from an external library that AdwCleaner uses to parse Chrome preferences file. It's weird because this error appears only on a few computers...

*Curieux, je suis aussi sous XPpro Sp3 32 bits et je n'ai eu aucun problème pour la version 5.018 ni la dernière version 5.019.
Ce message d'erreur est parfois affiché quand la version est obsolète ? Comme cela a été le cas pour moi ce matin (& pour la 1ère fois) avec la version 5.018, mais à la 2ème ouverture le programme signale bien la version obsolète comme d'habitude.
