hey, there was someone in here who commented on this thread with a link to how to remove some adware, the link was a tutorial or something on a website. I clicked on it to check it out but my AV blocked it as it was malicious (i didn't download or clicked anything just my AV blocked it), did i just got infected or what ? (the comments got deleted by someone) can anybody answer me please ?

I've used AdwCleaner 7.0.2.0 BETA2 on my PC (Windows 10 Pro x64) and I've encountered no problem with (except the alert box about outdated (beta) version you've just to cancel and "Quarantine bug").

Are you sure of integrity of binary file you've downloaded? MD5 checksum correct value for v7.0.2.0 beta2 must be: ce116e89dfb4b0df2a4128b0f8470e36

If the downloaded file is good, perhaps AdwClean...

V7.0.2.0 Beta:  Thanks for your statement about 'Initial work to choose between release|beta update tracks',  In response, I'm reporting on my confusion this morning about which version the 'Download' button is going to give me.

I had the same problem, what I did was delete the old version and then re-downloaded from the link above. When you get the verse above window saying it is out of date cancel that. Then you need to look in when finished scanning before you start cleaning. On click the first pup, then you need to let it clean. I hope this will help you.

I did the same with my second machine with WIN 8.1. The same problem, the same error message. Atgtached pls find the content of the debug log file.
