I'm having something simmilar happen to me when using adw cleaner.
Frequently when I have run adwcleaner after the reboot it takes very long for the user to login. After the login process Windows will give a notification "failed to connect to windows service". Can you run AdwCleaner in debug mode? Click on "Options" then "Activate debug mode".
Run the scan. Even if it shows this error message, you should have a file called "Debug_XXXXX.log" under C:\

Just like it says, after I updated to 5.105, I can no longer scan. After pressing scan I get an error popup with the message, "AdwCleaner's database cannot be loaded." I have tried re-downloading the .exe, restarting my computer and turning firewall completely off. But I get this error every time.

J'ai prété mon ordi pendant 2 seamines et à mon retour je choppe des pops-ups (malgrès adblock) et je ne peux ouvrir certains fichiers gifs sur les pages webs.
Je lence donc avira (4 resultats positifs) et anti malware (ras) puis au moment de lancer adwcleaner je reçois une fenetre sans message avec seulement ok et annuler... si j'annule le programme s'execute mais quand ...
Let me add an observation. Today user at forum abused that he couldn't attach log to his message, even couldn't zip log because of reduced rights. I think that reason of this is also because folder now in Program Files.
