I am helping a friend clean a grossly infected computer. Windows 10. Uses McAfee AV.

He ran Malwarebytes 3 without difficulty and it cleaned with no problem at all. I do have the log if needed but cannot find a way to attach the text file

He then attempted to use AdwCleaner v. 7.0.3.1 but it would not complete cleaning and received a box with notification that a problem had stopped the clean....

More than two weeks later, still same results as above. This is the longest I've ever gone without a clean scan result, and it worries me.

I cannot help you, I'm sorry. I wish I could, then we'd BOTH know what we're doing when we get results. I don't understand computers well enough to understand 9/10ths of what they even DO anymore. I know this much: everything is slow, and has been since Windows 10 was forced upon us all. I don't even understand WHAT this program actually does except "clean" things that are "bad" ... lol ... goo...

I've tried 7.0.2.0 and 7.0.2.0 with same results. Here are details.

New version rolled in, and I rebooted as it was suggested to me... I still get these results.

I did the same with my second machine with WIN 8.1. The same problem, the same error message. Atgtached pls find the content of the debug log file.

Please download the new version (7.0.1.0), it is available here: https://toolslib.net/downloads/finish/1-adwcleaner/

Then, launch a new scan and copy/paste the results log in your next answer.

Do you have the latest version installed? Have you tried the newest beta update of AdwCleaner? Kind of curious how in this case internet is affecting scan results.
