Re: AdwCleaner will not install on Win10 64-bit PC

No luck. The PC won't enter safe mode. It just shuts down. Ran sfc /scannow - no errors. Also tried disabling Windows Defender  - same error comes up.

Additional Note - 2/19/18: I logged in under a separate accoun that also has local admin privileges. On login Win10 updated some Creators Update files and allowed me to install/run AdwCleaner 7.0.8.0. After reboot I tried running AdwCleaner unde...

Re: Can anyone help me identify if any of these deleted registry keys are essential for windows?

I cannot help you, I'm sorry. I wish I could, then we'd BOTH know what we're doing when we get results. I don't understand computers well enough to understand 9/10ths of what they even DO anymore. I know this much: everything is slow, and has been since Windows 10 was forced upon us all. I don't even understand WHAT this program actually does except "clean" things that are "bad" ... lol ... goo...

Re: Computer Infected, AdwCleaner won't download

Hi, it's Firefox, but I also tried on IE and it still didn't work. I also tried Firefox on Linux Ubuntu, on the same computer, and still no luck lol.

You can read more on Malwarebytes and The Hacker News. Even Kaspersky's attempts at that have failed. Hopefully, we can have the master key somehow, or a lucky break in decryption. Other than that, you can ...

Re: More false positives

As a servicedeskmanager i have been promoting adwcleaner for years on our schools but now it's causing confusion among collegues and other cliënts when adwcleaner is stating that there might be a problem or maybe something is a PUP while there isnt anything wrong. I understand there's a behavior pattern wich puts it in a categorie for ma...

Re: Adware and i don't know what to do

Glad the issues have been sorted out. For future reference, I recommend installing some form of Adblock, as not only that prevents malicious ad pop-ups but also some malicious websites as well. Additionally, you can check any link before clicking it using Virus Total or Scanurl. Good luck!

Re: After install Torch browser from the official page adwcleaner detects malware 18

Glad you solved the issue. Torch browser, unfortunately, is malware. It is what you would call Bundleware or PUP (Potentially unwanted program), usually bundled with other more used software as part to generate more file downloads and installs. In the future always select advanced or expert options when installing, usually, they are hidden after that one checkmark. Additionally, you can do regu...
