Ah. It appears to be my son's account and an artifact of when he must have used my laptop.  So this may not be so easy to turn off.  Maybe he will know how.

Hello,

If you confirm that uninstalling/reinstall Chrome stable doesn't fix the issue, it's likely that the Chrome synchronization must be stopped in order to fully clean the browser. Unfortunately, there's no automatic step that can be done for that..

The test is running (now 4 pass....) I hope to find the log after pass 8th, anyway I will take photos....[In the meantime a full - 4 hours long - scandisk said me that the HDD is ok with zero damaged clusters].

I used chrome canary for a while and the problem seemed to stop.  I am now trying the regular chrome again, and the problem is really back.  I have tried to follow google's instructions above but find them opaque and hard to understand.  All, I know is that the problem is back.  Maybe I should try canary again?

Hello,

Don't worry, it's very easy. Once you've plugged your USB key in your computer, just reboot. At the very first screen when your computer manuacturer and model is shown, there will be a small message saying "press this key in order to boot on your key". You'll just need to press it, and "voilà".
