Re: False Positive for GeekBuddy

Seems to have been happening for awhile for geekbuddy

Maybe your users can uncheck the removal of geekbuddy before cleaning, If they are sure it was installed for a legitimate program and not bundled with other software as mentioned in the article

Re: ADW Cleaner wants to delete about 40 HKCU and HKLM key and val files

Hello,

An administrator of the forum just forward me your message containing the log file. I understand your fears, but in that case, they are not founded. The developpers of the softwares that we use for curing computers on forum are conceived to be respectful of the user privacy. The only potentially private datas are : the name of the user, of the computer and a list of the software that yo...

Re: New AdwCleaner v5.019 crashes in winXP

This worked for me. from Adwcleaner download page:

  • bamacola said about 5 hours ago:

Possible solution on win xp sp3. Rename Adwcleaner_5.021.exe to Adwcleaner.exe. This may also work on versions 18 and up. It may have to do with Avira safe search interfering with it. Once I removed Avira safe search from registry (IE browser entries) using adwcleaner.exe it would then run adwcleaner_5.021....

Re: How to ignore specific programs from Adwcleaner scan

Hi,

maybe you can provide the full logfile from AdwCleaner, so we can give you some help... like for example if you should delete the detected items or not.

Currently, there is no way to ignore elements permanently.

ADWcleaner flagged as Malware

on AdwCleaner by mik

Hi,

I thought you may be interested that I downloaded your ADWcleaner from theBleeping Computer website the other day and it was immediately flagged by Kaspersky AV as a trojan. Version adwcleaner_5.014.exe.

This caused a Kernel Core Security Failure and Windows 10 closed down. Rebooted and Kaspersky dealt with the problematic file. All clear now. However it seems that some one/thing is possi...

Re: How to ignore specific programs from Adwcleaner scan

I'm aware that I can "uncheck" specific items.  Unfortunately, I have no way to know if I have correctly identified all required items - specially in the area of the registry, where the items may not be easy to identify - and I have no way to mark these choices (that I'm aware of) as "permanent" so that I don't have to go through the same procedure each time I perform a scan.

Re: Autoit error

Maybe it helps - system is Windows XP SP3.

Bad LAG with Windows 10

This lagging started almost immediately after the download of Windows 10 - everything on my computer is slow.  Programs take a while to open, then when open, sometimes I can type faster than the computer can keep up!  I cannot figure out what to stop 'running in the background' -- but it just feels like something is dragging the speed down, but it's not showing up in the "Remove Programs" part!...

Re: Autoit error

Hi,

Please activate Debug Mode as follows so we can see a report which may be helpful with identifying the problem.

  • Double-click on AdwCleaner.exeto open the tool.
  • Click on Options in the top menu.
  • Put a check mark next to Activate debug mode
  • Click on the Scan button
  • A logfile report called AdwCleaner_dbg_XXXX.log (where XXXX represents the time run) will be created and saved to %syste...
