Re: Potential false positives?

PUP is usually named a Potentially Unwanted Program. It doesn't always have to be malware or malicious software. If MMO's have their anti-cheat in form of "Pando", it might interact with files at the system level, which AdwCleaner could deem treating a very normal reaction. Keep in mind that different malware removal software targets malicious software different ways. While one anti-malware sof...

Re: Can I remove these folders/keys safely with adware cleaner?

dans AdwCleaner par JoshRoss

PUP is a potentially unwanted program. Basically, something that comes with bundleware or through other sources. As fr33tux mentioned, you should just remove them and not worry about it much. In general, if you see something with WARE in scans, it is some form of malware.

Re: PUP.Legacy.Optional - 3 Threats Identified

Hello,

It's not a browser hijack, it's the search-engine setting that AdwCleaner set after removing a malicious one. This will be back to google.com by default, with a dropdown in the Options UI to choose between seevral search engines.

I then searched for add ons and related software and found none. Ran v7 safe mode scan again next day. No unwanted objects found, but ag...
